Meet Puerto Rico's El Yunque Rain Forest

El Yunque Rainforest

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jude of Clariad in Crete has tagged me to share a photo from the sixth folder and the sixth picture. She has a friendly corner in Greece that must be visited! I only have four folders and I'm short on original work...so... I had to alter the rules a bit to participate in this tag. I'm just beginning to explore the intersection between photography and computers though to be honest, I have been interested in photography all of my life. I studied an intensive course at the Athenaeum . (If you clicked the former historical information link, I'm just teasing you. I attended this Athenaeum School of the Arts in La Jolla, California-a very modest accomplishment, I assure you.) :-)
Maybe I will break through the rest of my digital resistance and update my knowledge. Through many wonderful encounters with highly creative bloggers, I've been inspired and discovered how to add more zest to life. Now I want to paint, sing, and shoot off my Cannon! (Of course all within the context of blogging and sharing experiences.)
I've decided to share this Puerto Rico Free High Resolution Photo link, in case someone would like to print out an 8x10 or 11x15 high quality scenic image of Puerto Rico.
Here are the rules:
1. Pick the 6th photo from your 6th folder
2. Tell a story around it (Do you think my Athenaeum story qualifies...?)
3. Pass it on to 6 others
I would like to tag....
Linda S. Soucha who features Psyche Connections
Blogger friends, I know it takes time to do these tags but I wanted to send some attention your way. Also, there are so many others that I could have selected but if you seemed too busy with tags and such, I tried to give you a break. If you want to do the tag and I overlooked you, please accept my appologies, and participate with confidence. Send me an email and I certainly will add a link to you! (As a general principle, feel free to break any of the arbritrary rules above.)
Don't forget to tell whoever you tag and link to their blog.
May your heart be consciously connected to life.
  4. Ah Cynthia, you are so sweet to think of me. Thank you. This one is easy, but some of the tags are really detailed.
    I have just cleaned up my photos from last year, so I am going to have to go and see if 6 folders remain on my computer or if I have to go to my external drive for the folder. LOL
    I love this idea of yours to explore photography more. I understand your reluctance to go digital as I too learned with film and love the dark room work...although the computer is a lot more healthier. For me, the hard part is translating the dark room to the computer. WE will get there, though! I say go for it!
    Your beautiful Photographs and Story Absolutely do Qualify!
    Thank You Again!
  5. Thank you all for the wonderful comments and your willingness to play! I am excited to see what you post.
    Elizabeth, sure we can talk about anything you'd like. Did you notice that I posted a link to your interview of me on the sidebar?
    You asked such great questions. My answers to the expat interview questions are terse...what a contrast!
    Lori Ann, you have great photo opportunities also on the California beach! I loved your last post about sliding on the surface of the water with a board and a paddle. Alas, I couldn't explain it well enough. We were on our extreemly long commute home last night, everyone was tired, and our collective attention span may have been too short. I think I have to show them the photos!
    Thank you Blue Sky-maybe you could do an abstract waterfall?
    High Desert Diva, the photos of your morning walk to the mailbox were beautiful, also!
    Kim, so true-the computer photo work is healthier- I didn't think of that! Please feel free to 'cheat' as much as you want... out here in blogland-who would mind if you take a pic from another folder? <3 Thank you for your sweet words!
  10. What a gorgeous area and how interesting to read that you studied in La Jolla. Mr FF and I once spent ages trying to find a particular place in San Diego, got completely lost and ended up in La Jolla which has to be one of the prettiest places I have ever been to. Oh to have an ocean view house there...
  11. Natalie, -no, you´re the clever one! Did you notice that Elizabeth already posted her sixth picture? It´s in Morrocco-the tomb of Moulay Bouzerktoun-he's a holy man. Thanks for you sweet comment. xx!
    Thanks for coming over from India, Braja! Your retreat photos are gorgeous.
    Linda, yes, and El Yunque is quite accessible! I´m so glad you want to play!
    French Fancy, Did you ever find the lost San Diego spot? Or did you just pull over by the ocean and enjoy the scenic view? I love that area also. I lived in Coronado for 23 years...have you been there. A lot of travelers go to the island to visit the Hotel Del Coronado-a well known historical hotel-resort by the sea. I love an ocean view, too!
  12. Hi, Cynthia! I was also tagged to find the sixth folder and the sixth photo, but I think it is too time consuming! So, I leave it to others.
  16. Beautiful photos. It seems that there's a Yunque in most Spanish-speaking countries. There's one in Cuba and I think there's one in Bolivia, too.
    Many thanks.
    Greetings from London.
  17. Hello Cynthia...I did not cheat, I did what was recommended as far as the photo choosing (I liked the one which came up, obviously). However I did not make specific tags. Come for a visit and read the story...photo is not even mine! :)
    Thanks again...this was fun!
  18. Welcome Cuban in London. I read that El Yunque gets its name from an Indian spirit Yuquiye, which means "Forest of Clouds". That makes sense for Cuba because of the possible migration of the Indian population between PR and Cuba ...hum...Bolivia, too? Thanks for you interesting comment.
  20. Hey Oasis, I haven't commented in a while, so busy in the university plus my Saturday workshop made me completely anxious. I love the photos from El Yunque, I love photography as well, when I graduated from Syracuse my dad gave me a Canon AE_I 35 millimiter, I have to clean it, take it to a place to be checked.
    see you
