Santa Baby

After opening presents, and experiencing the attendant greed, lust and persistent desire for material satisfaction, I thought I would reward all of you, dear bloggers, with a nostalgic and irreverent look at Christmas Clause by Eartha Kitt. Don't forget to have fun today!

The lyrics to Santa Baby for your added enjoyment:

Santa Baby, slip a sable under the tree,

For me.

Been an awful good girl,

Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa baby, a 54 convertible too,

Light blue. I'll wait up for you dear,

Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Think of all the fun I've missed,

Think of all the fellas that I haven't kissed,

Next year I could be just as good,

If you'll check off my Christmas list,

Santa baby, I wanna yacht,

And really that's not a lot,

Been an angel all year,

Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa honey, there's one thing I really do need,

The deed

To a platinum mine,

Santa honey, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa cutie, and fill my stocking with a duplex,

And checks.

Sign your 'X' on the line,

Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Come and trim my Christmas tree,

With some decorations bought at Tiffany's,

I really do believe in you,

Let's see if you believe in me,

Santa baby, forgot to mention one little thing,

A ring.

I don't mean on the phone,

Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight,

Hurry down the chimney tonight,

Hurry, tonight.

Happy Holidays!

  1. I just heard she passed away today. What a strong presence, I loved to hear her sensuous voice. She was a very courageous person as well. Back in the years of the Nixon administration she was invited to a dinner at the White House. People at her table were talking about the benefits of the Viet Nam War. She raised her voice to defend the young Americans that have been drafted into the war and all the servicemen killed over there. She was subsequently balckballed for more than a decade for her outspoken personality.

  2. Wow, she died today? Did you know that she performed before Presi Bush, the younger, in 2006. There's a YouTube video where she spices up the performance with the entire slender length of her leg exposed. When the camera pans over to Mr. Bush's red, overly giddy face, I feel impatient for the nightmare to end.
